XPENG Unveils First Mass-Produced Robotaxi with 3,000 TOPS AI Power
XPENG has rolled out its first mass-produced Robotaxi in Guangzhou, marking China's first in-house L4 autonomous model built on the GX platform. It features four self-developed Turing AI chips delivering 3,000 TOPS and will begin pilot operations in mid-2026 toward fully driverless service by early 2027.
1. Mass Production Rollout
XPENG officially rolled out the first mass-produced Robotaxi at its Guangzhou facility, representing China's first fully in-house L4 autonomous vehicle. This milestone follows the January road testing permit and the March launch of the dedicated Robotaxi business unit.
2. Technical Specifications
Built on the GX platform, the Robotaxi harnesses four self-developed Turing AI chips to deliver 3,000 TOPS of computing power. Its pure vision VLA 2.0 model eliminates LiDAR and HD maps, reducing response latency below 80 milliseconds and enabling cross-city deployment.
3. Commercialization Roadmap
XPENG plans to launch pilot Robotaxi operations in mid-2026 to validate technical and user metrics, targeting fully driverless service without safety officers by early 2027. The company will open its Robotaxi SDK this year, onboarding Amap as its first global ecosystem partner.
